Each year, volunteers help clean up along York road, an area adopted by the Lake Helena Watershed Group. This 2-mile stretch is notoriously loaded with garbage and is near Prickly Pear Creek.
Typically, the Lake Helena Watershed Group hosts 2-3 litter clean ups annually; at least one in the spring and one in the fall before snowfall.
We collected 24 large garbage bags of litter in the spring of 2017, and another 31 bags of garbage on National Public Lands Day this fall (September 30th, 2017)
